    TikTok of the Week - SylvanianDramaI was so pleased to see Sylvanian Drama got their account restored recently. One of TikTok's most original and most entertaining accounts and one we referenced all the time inside TikTok. They have 2.5m followers and their videos regularly do 1m+ views. What can we learn from them? 👉 Do one thing well. TikTok rewards a niche (and you consistently know what to expect when you see it in your feed). Brands - be consistent!👉 Deadpan humour. Sylvanian acts like a soap opera - could your brand do episodic content, or embrace edgier humour?👉 Short-form and fast-paced. Each TikTok functions like a tiny episode (with music, scene chats and captions building the drama) with a beginning, middle and end. Embrace the new narratives of TikTok. Props to Burberry for embracing them as a Creator partnership last year. I'd love to see more brands being experimental with their Creator choices. #tiktok #marketing #video #socialmedia #advertising

    You have to try this one weird trick…When we started at TikTok in 2020, none of our clients understood 'hooks'. The term wasn't even really widely used. Most clients and ad creatives still think in TV terms - where you have a beginning, middle and end, where you have 30-60 seconds of slow unfolding narrative, in a space (somewhat) free of distractions.But for as long as we've had the internet, we've had hooks. From email subject lines to click-bait headlines; from “hot girls in your area” to “this one weird trick” on banner ads - those of us in the media and marketing space have learnt how to capture consumer attention in the shortest snappiest way possible.As Meta taught us back in the day, putting the most interesting and unusual content in the first three seconds is the best way to do a narrative online. So what's your hook?🥊 Find your most unusual, eye-catching, emotive, funniest or highest energy clip and put it first, even if it's out of narrative order.🥊 Create a sentence that draws the user in (thinking user and content first, not a brand line first) and overlay it as a text box🥊 Use voiceover or sound to immediately establish the mood#ai #advertising #hooks #contentmarketing #socialmediamarketing #meta #tiktok #ads
